Dekra D-Drive Urban Voyager Men's Comfort Bike (26-Inch Wheels)

Dekra D-Drive Urban Voyager Men's Comfort Bike (26-Inch Wheels)

Whether you're commuting to work, touring the town, or just out for some exercise, you'll do it in style on a Dekra Urban Voyager men's comfort bike. Made especially for suburban and city riding, the Dekra Urban Voyager combines great design with outstanding safety and comfort features. The bike is distinguished by such details as a lightweight aluminum alloy frame, a seven-speed Shimano Revoshifter, a suede-covered comfort saddle, and even a rear alloy rack complete with a Dekra signature carrying bag. It's perfect for a quick jaunt to the store, a ride with the kids, or a weekend road trip.

Dekra D-Drive Chain-Free Technology
The Urban Voyager employs a D-Drive chainless operating system that's designed to provide you with a quiet, efficient ride. Using a Shimano seven-speed Nexus gear hub and Revoshift system, the D-Drive is contained within a sealed rank, shaft rod, and gear housing. What does this mean to the rider? It means you'll never have to deal with stained clothing or greasy hands because of a chain.

Designed for Your Safety
Riding in the city and suburbs can be challenging. Navigating auto traffic, bumpy roads, pedestrians, and anything else that comes along is just part of the ride. The Dekra Urban Voyager overcomes these challenges by offering a variety of important safety features, including RST Capa T8 suspension forks, front and rear alloy V-brakes, double-wall alloy wheel rims, a front headlight, and front and rear reflectors. When it comes to your riding safety, the Dekra Urban Voyager is totally first-class.

Available in mint green metallic paint with brushed aluminum and black accents, the Dekra Urban Voyager is, top to bottom, a classic comfort bike--from its thickly padded seat down to its wide tires. Other details include an integrated speedometer, water bottle mounts, and 26-by-1.75-inch city tread tires.

The Right Price
A bike's price boils down to three essentials: frame materials, bike weight, and component quality and durability.
I read everything I could find about this bike before I purchased it. As is the general case, you need to be careful about what people say about things as they tend to be opinion based rather than factual. I have now put 60 plus miles on my new bike and I really enjoy it. The seat was not comfortable to me so I replaced it with a $20 seat from Walmart. I did not downrate the bike for this as it did not surprise me. I have found the seven gears to be more than adequate and spend most of my riding time in gears 1 through 4. I am 63 years old and find that this bike meets my needs without having 21 gears to go through.

I read a lot of information about chainless bikes where they were being knocked because the bevel gears were not as efficient as a chain. I am a mechanical engineer and I found those statements to be misleading at best. A chain has so many links where efficiency can be lost not to mention the fact that the two sprockets rarely line up which must cause some binding as well. I find my chainless bike to be very efficient, smooth and easy to pedal.

I also read concerns about removing the rear tire on a chainless bike. Nothing could be further from the truth! I over inflated my rear tire and blew the inner tube so I got a quick look at this process. I would estimate that it requires about 1 to 2 minutes to remove the rear tire to replace the inner tube. The first time should take you longer as you will want to read the instructions. This process is no big deal and I did not get greasy from a chain in the process!

If you want to find a downside with this bike, it would be with the instruction material. The quality of some of the pictures is not as good as it could be and the written words make you want to rely on the pictures!

Pacific Shorewood Men's 26-Inch Cruiser Bike

Pacific Shorewood Men's 26-Inch Cruiser Bike

Customer Review: good value for the money
The bike came double boxed and I did not notice anything bent or broken. Haven't put it together yet because it is a Christmas present. Based on previous reviews, assembly should be easy. Keep you posted. still waiting for the ladies version. Hope I receive it prior to Christmas.
Customer Review: Rim got bented
I got this bicycle, and I assembled it. After I assembeld it, I was trying to ride on the bicycle, but I felt that the wheel was not smooth. So, I looked it, and the rim got bented, therefore brake kept reach.

At first time, I thought that it was a brake problem, so I fixed a gap between a rim and a brake.
However, it was not a problem. Rim was bented. So, now what? I have to go to a bike shop to fix it.

There are also a dent and a scratch.

Seasons by the Collective - Mountain Bike DVD

Seasons by the Collective - Mountain Bike DVD

PRE-ORDER: Book Now!. Release Date: May 15, 2008 The premise of the movie is to follow seven riders as they go through the four seasons of the year exploring their lives. Fittingly winter was the first season and the movie starts out with Steve Peat at his home in Sheffield England. It then bounces around the world to Aptos Ca and Cam McCaul, and his off-season training of a launch ramp to back yard pool, the rich mans foam pit. Also has a piece on Bearclaws training which was similar to McCauls but a launch into an old rock quarry. Incidently a quarry on Vancouver Island in the winter is much colder than sunny SoCal, but Darren was ahead of the game donning a wetsuit. It took me a couple seconds to figure out what he was wearing, but I couldnt stop laughing when I figured it out. Looks funny, but makes total sense. From winter we move into spring and some great riding with Thomas Vanderham & Matt Hunter. Matt Hunter builds a huge Kamloops hip jump that is definitely one of the largest jumps I have seen, and worth buying the movie for on its own. Summer has a great bit on Steve Smith, which is Canadas next fastest racer. His mom is fully supportive of his racing and she shuttles him up to 6 times a day (in her Geo Tracker) up the hills outside of Victoria BC. A somewhat touching moment between mother and son both working towards the goal of becoming a world champion. They then go to Mt. Seven Psychosis race in Golden BC with Tyler Morland, Steve Smith and a Aussie racer named Sam Hill. This race has been on the radar for some of the best racers in the world the last couple years due to its timing before Crankworx and the fact that it is ridiculously hard. At about 12 minutes long it could be one of the hardest races in North America.
Customer Review: Superb DVD
This is the first mountainbike DVD I've bought and I'm going to get the other Collective movies - this is stunning. Great blend of cinematography, music, interviews with the guys, and mountainbiking action. Love all the different camera angles. The riders are excellent, as you'd expect as they are at the top of their game. It's cool to see mountainbiking from an observer point of view too. The stunts are incredible but this movie nonetheless makes mountainbiking feel accessible; unlike watching some other sports (motorbike racing comes to mind) this is something us mortals can do, even if not to this extreme. Very inspiring - makes you want to get out and ride!
Customer Review: Fun Flick
While it is not ROAM, it is definately a fun movie. Starts out slow. Let's face it, how many of us can really enjoy mountain biking in winter (except us lucky ones in Arizona... we just can't bike in the heat of the summer). The movies covers the life of competition as well as riding with friends. Love this movie.

Continental Ultra Gatorskin Road Tire

Continental Ultra Gatorskin Road Tire Made with DuraSkin polyamide fabric to ensure excellent sidewall protection without compromising weight or ride quality. Smooth in the center and grippy on the shoulder, this durable tire provides superior cornering in any condition with minimal rolling resistance. Designed for commuting, touring and serious training.
Customer Review: Homely but effective.
This is one tough tire (I used the 700x28). Great for commuting, and riding over glass shards. It's nice and smooth, and went on easily. It's very black and functional, not an elegant tire.
Customer Review: Best Value on the Net
After searching the Web I came back to Amazon where I found my item at the best price, in stock. As always the delivery was great and the experience the same.

Continental Ultra Gatorskin tires are really great for training and all around riding. They're the best I found for simi smooth roads in Michigan.

Amazon.com Bicycle Buying Guide

Finding the Right Bike
To really enjoy cycling, it's important to find a bicycle that works for you. Here are some things to keep in mind when you're in the market for a new bike:

The Right Ride
In general, bikes are broken down into three major categories:

  • Road and Racing Bikes--As a general rule, road and racing are built for speed and longer distances on paved surfaces. Thinner tires, lightweight 29-inch (700c) wheels, and drop bars that allow for a more aerodynamic position are the norm. Most road bikes, regardless of price, offer many gears for tackling both hilly and flat terrain.
  • Mountain Bikes--With their larger tires, hill-friendly gearing, and upright position, mountain bikes are very popular for all types of riding, both on pavement and off. Mountain bikes that are designed specifically for rugged trail use typically feature a suspension fork. Some may have rear suspension, as well. A quick change of the tires on any mountain bike--even one that you use regularly on trails--adds to its versatility and makes it a worthy street machine.
  • Comfort/Cruiser Bikes--For tooling around on bike paths, light trails, or for cruising a quiet beach-side lane, comfort/cruiser bikes are the ticket. With a super-relaxed riding position, padded seats, and limited or no gearing, these bikes are made for enjoying the scenery and having fun with the family.

The Right Price
A bike's price boils down to three essentials: frame materials, bike weight, and component quality and durability.

  • Entry-level--You'll find a wide range of comfort and cruiser bikes in this category, as well as some lower-end mountain bikes and road bikes. Most will have steel frames and components that are designed to last for several years with frequent use.
  • Mid-range--Bikes in this range may feature a lighter aluminum frame with mid-range components that keep performing after miles of use. If you're looking for a quality bike that is relatively lightweight and will stand up to abuse, this is the "sweet spot." Most serious commuter and touring bikes fall into this category, as do mid-range mountain bikes with a decent front suspension.
  • High-end--Racers and serious enthusiasts who expect lightweight, high-performance components will want to stick to this category. For road bikes, exotic frame materials (carbon fiber, titanium) and ultralightweight components can add thousands to the price tag. Mountain bikes in this class often feature advanced front and rear suspension technology, as well as components designed to handle lots of rugged trail action.

The Right Size
Fit is crucial for comfort, control, and proper power and endurance on a bike. Here are some basic bike fit tips:

  • Stand-over Height--To find out if a bike's overall height fits your body, measure your inseam. Next, determine how much clearance you'll need between your crotch and the top tube of the bike. For a mountain bike, you'll want three to five inches of clearance. A road bike should offer between one and two inches of clearance, while a commuter bike should have two to four inches. Compare the stand-over height for a given bike to your measurements (inseam + clearance) to determine the right bike height.
  • Top Tube Length--You can measure your torso to get a good estimate of proper top tube length. First, make a fist and extend your arm. Measure from the center of your fist to the end of your collarbone (the part that intersects your shoulder). Next, measure your torso by placing a book against your crotch with the spine facing up. Measure from the spine to the bottom of your throat (the spot between your collarbones). Finally, add the two measurements (arm length + torso length), divide the number in half, and subtract six inches. This is your approximate top tube length. Compare this number to a bike's posted top tube length. You can allow for about two inches longer or shorter, as most bikes can be adjusted via stem length/height and saddle fore/aft position to make fine adjustments to the fit.
  • Bikes for Women--Proportionally, women tend to have a shorter torso and longer legs than men. Bike makers design women's bikes that offer a shorter top tube and many comfort/cruiser bikes built for women may also provide more stand-over clearance.

The Right Accessories
When you make a bike purchase, don't forget these crucial add-ons:

  • Helmet (this is a must!)
  • Seat pack
  • Lock
  • Hydration pack, or water bottle and bottle cage
  • Spare tubes
  • Portable bike pump
  • Gloves

About Mongoose

The Montana is an all-terrain bike featuring an alloy mountain bike frame and a three-piece ATB crank with 21-speed SRAM MRX shifters.
In 1974, BMX Products, Inc., later to be known as Mongoose Bicycles, launched from a humble garage. The first of its kind, the BMX bicycle was named after bicycle motocross and was designed to fit the needs of the rough-and-tumble dirt-racing pastime that took its toll on wheels and bicycles. The heavy-duty, one-piece cast-aluminum Mongoose Motomag wheel was soon born, and it was the first competition-ready BMX bicycle available. Skip Hess, while in Australia pursuing his motor sports passion, came into contact with a strange and unusual cat-size animal--the mongoose. Known for its passive nature while unprovoked, yet vicious and aggressive enough to kill a threatening Cobra twice its size, the Mongoose impressed Hess, who quickly registered the Mongoose trademark for his new bicycle racing frame.

The Expert BMX bicycle model, which is still a cornerstone of the Mongoose BMX line today, was introduced in 1980. Shortly after, Mongoose captured the first ever ABA National #1 Cruiser Title. Previously known for the 20-inch bicycle, this title signaled the re-direction of Mongoose bicycles to larger-wheeled, adult-sized models. Several years later, Mongoose continues to dominate the cruiser racing circuit with six National No. 1 Cruiser titles, leading to the introduction of adult-sized Mongoose all-terrain bicycles (ATBs).

In 1992, Mongoose pioneered the full-suspension market with the introduction of the Amplifier. This design is still the most-copied suspension design in the market. Several year later, Mongoose launched the Newman adult bicycle frame, which is proven to be 15% stronger than any other bike frame in the market. The design, while functionally sound, also raised eyebrows because of its distinctive look.

In the next few years, Mongoose increased its marketing focus to dominate the bicycle industry, and more important, extend beyond it. The Mongoose brand marketing initiative makes more than 100 million impressions. Mongoose’s brand awareness increased by over 130% in 1999 and solidifies the No. 2 market share position in units and dollars. Mongoose was acquired by Pacific Cycle, LLC, and continues to grow and prosper with more than 40 models of BMX, mountain, trail, freestyle, jumping, comfort, road, and cyclocross bikes.

Customer Review: It's a bike.
I bought this bike for biking to work and didn't want to spend a lot until I knew this was something I would stick with. Well, a month later, and the pedals are still turning albeit with new aluminum pedals. (I broke the pair that came with the bike on the third day. They were plastic.) I'm satisfied with the basic quality, but it's a definite "starter" bike.
Customer Review: Helpful suggestion to problems.
For those of which are experiencing problems with steering, it may be possible that the fork is set backwards in its current position. Simply loosen the top bolt and turn the fork around. The wheel is very close to your legs with minimal clearance for this reason. The handle bar issue is easy, may sure that both allen bolts are equally tighten to the same length on the bars, if the top bolt, bottom( vice versa) is overtighten, the other is loose, which will cause slippage. If the blot is stripped or the what I recommended above is not the issue, call warranty at Pacific Cycle 1-800-626-2811. I am sure they would be happy to help out.

La Z Boy Cruiser Bike Seat

La Z Boy Cruiser Bike Seat Customer Review: Great Seat!!!

Customer Review: Great seat
I have used this seat for about a week and it feels great my last seat was good don't get me wrong but things have come alone way in ten years I'm 290lbs and I can ride for hours on end without pain in my bottom now and at $9.00 you can't go wrong

Schwinn Katana Road Bike

Schwinn Katana Road Bike Customer Review: Frame too small for me
I ordered the 58cm frame but when it came, it was only 54cm. The bike in the picture is only 54cm. This bike was light and seemed to be well-built, but it was just too small for my 6'-2" frame. My pictures are the last 4 pictures on the Amazon site. You can see how high I had to raise the seat up. I had to return it to Amazon. Other than size, the bike seemed to be well worth the money for a bike of this quality. Everything functioned properly and it shifted smoothly. The seat should be replaced with a "specialized" or other good seat. Rims were nice and light, frame was nice, components were good for the price.
Customer Review: Excellent affordable bike.
For the money this bike is worth it. I wanted a street bike for traveling, but didn't want to spend too much and that is just what I got. It is super lightweight, fast and easy to assemble with basic tools. The only complaint I have is the seat hurts. This was easily solved with an aftermarket gel cover. I have done 100 miles now with no mechanical problems at all.

Thinner tires, lightweight 29-inch (700c) wheels and drop bars that allow for a more aerodynamic position are the norm. Most road bikes, regardless of price, offer many gears for tackling both hilly and flat terrain.
  • Mountain Bikes--With their larger tires, hill-friendly gearing and upright position, mountain bikes are very popular for all types of riding, both on pavement and off.

For road bikes, exotic frame materials (carbon fiber, titanium) and ultra-lightweight components can add thousands to the price tag.

Finally, add the two measurements (arm length + torso length), divide the number in half and subtract six inches.

  • Seat pack
  • Lock
  • Hydration pack, or water bottles and bottle cages
  • Spare tubes
  • Portable bike pump
  • Gloves

Customer Review: Terrific buy, lovely bike; one strange part omitted
I bought this for my domestic partner. First she brought home a Schwinn from Walmart. She only rode it a couple of miles, and said it felt short and "twitchty" to steer. I rode it and indeed it felt like the front fork had no rake at all. I hated it immediately; we returned it and bought this Mongoose. It was easy to put together if you are a bicyclist. The only thing I found peculiar. With all of the sweet refinements, why was there no quick release drop-out on the front wheel. That is a little annoying because it is tough to get it inside of our Explorer. Otherwise, I think it is a very good quality, beautiful bike. (I ride a Cannondale that has 8,000 miles on it, so I have some experience with bikes.)
Customer Review: great bike
The bike was deliverd super fast with no problems. The packaging was done well in a double- heavy duty cardboard box. The bicycle was in perfect condition with very little assembly required. Fortunately my dad taught me how to use a wrench so it wasn't that difficult to get the parts together.
it looks great and rides smoothly- perfect for jaunts to the store or around the block! i am very happy with my purchase.

Kurt Kinetic Rock & Roll Fluid Road RU Bike Trainer with Spinerval Workout DVD

Kurt Kinetic Rock & Roll Fluid Road RU Bike Trainer with Spinerval Workout DVD Customer Review: Impressive trainer
I've been riding the Rock & Roll for several months now to supplement my road riding. I was a little hesitant about the rocking feature initially. As it turns out, the default stiffness setting doesn't move nearly as much as I was expecting. Of course, you can loosen the resistance for more motion, or really tighten it down for even less.

My main concern was longevity of my bike frame and I feel like having a little bit of give in the trainer will help prevent damage. I'm not small at 200lbs so a little give is a good thing.

The resistance unit itself is smooth and operates with a relatively little noise. Our house is very open and I ride directly below our bedroom. My wife has never been awakened by the trainer.

I chose to purchase the model with the additional flywheel. I use it when I'm doing consistent pace riding. If I want to do intervals I almost have to remove it to prevent tire slippage. Not a problem, since most people would prefer less flywheel effect for intervals anyway.

Summary:
This is a quality tool that will definitely help you pack on the training miles. The rock & roll feature is not crucial, but is a worthwhile feature if you have the extra money to spend.

Customer Review: Slow shipmeng
Shipment comes very slow. A lot of work to put it together (and no tool included so must have your own tool set). The back peddle break is not very easy to use, especially for new bikers. But that's what you paid for...
Customer Review: Huffy cruiser a decent basic bike
With the right tools, listed in the instruction manual, I was able to put it together pretty easily. I found a digital version of the instruction manual on Huffy's website, which helped a lot because the photos on the hard copy they sent me were blurry. It's a very heavy bike. It was cheaper than anything I could find in Boston, new or used. It would be a good Burning Man bike because of the very wide tires. The front fender is a little crooked.

Customer Reviews

Cute Horn, Odd Installation3
I purchased this horn as a reward for my daughter scoring high on some math tests. It looks exactly as she expected so she loves it. I was disappointed with how it mounts on the bike though and it required that I use some extra washers to mount it properly and it still doesn't sit straight as it should on the bike.

Cute Horn4
This horn works well for our needs. My daughter received it for her fourth birthday and loves the pink and purple princess themed noise-maker. Luckily for me it isn't too loud. I agree with the other reviewer - that it would be better if the princesses were printed on the horn, but my daughter loves it just the same.

Princess Bike Horn3
I was a little disappointed. There are no stickers or anything on the horn, it just has a bow and that's about it.

bell sticks3
The bell was a stocking stuffer for my college age daughter. She uses her bike at school. The bell is cute and has a great sound but sticks. My husband had to take it apart and adjust it on Christmas morning.

I love my "I love my bike" bell!5
This item was very easy to install on my bike, it's sturdy, and it's sooo cute! The product's description doesn't list it's dimensions though; it's 2 inches in diameter.

GREAT PRICE AND WORKS!!!5
Great product. I ordered 2 of them a Chrome and a White one. I wasn't expecting much for 3 bucks but they came in great condition and works as describe.
My girlfriend and I ride along a paved trail at times with alot of people. The ring...ring..sound is plesant to the ears is loud enough to get the attention of people. No more yelling "On you left".
All you need is a phillips screw driver and it took only but a couple of minutes to install on the handle bar. I installed mine on the right side and angled it away from me for easier access for my fingers.
I have only had used the product for 3 months but the only negative is that on rougher trails and on bumps the bell will give off a little ring. So I wouldn't put this thing on a real mountain bike. But what hardcore mountain biker would in the first place. LOL.
So don't hesitate buy it if you need one. It will save you from yelling for people to move and it looks cool. I will be ordering more for gifts for all my biking friends.

Kettler Bike Bell (Red)5
Great little accessory for the trike. Lots of fun for the little ones. It's a nice addition and great quality.

Lovely tone and fine functionality for a great price.5
I bought this to replace the cheap bubble horn on my son's bike. The Kettler Red Bell has a plastic mounting clip but the bell and clapper are metal and the sound is sweet and pure. My son has strict instructions to ring and announce when passing pedestrians on his bike and this functions very well. It's audible and easy for him to thumb while biking (he's 8). The bonus for me is that I don't have to listen to "blaaat blaaat" over and over, and instead get that lovely nostalgic "brrringgg brrringgg".

Great lil' bell5
This bell is so cute and really reminds one of childhood.
It's also a great price and has a nice ring to it!
